A Saturday full of activities...Clydeside distillery, Stirling Castle and Transport museum.

Today we spent a day full of activities ... I will try to tell our day through the best photos we have taken ;) ...

This morning we visited the Clydeside distillery in Glasgow...

it was really interesting because in a few hours we learned so much about a topic that was a bit unknown to us ...

a very kind guide, who works in the distillery, showed us the various machines used to produce such a special and refined drink that is whiskey...

This is the most expensive bottle of whiskey that we saw...incredible!! 3000£!!

finished the tour in the distillery we went to Stirling to visit the famous castle .... renowned because located in the place where one of the most famous battles in Scotland was fought...

here a picture of all of us in the throne room, with a giant Christmas tree behind us...

and here another our photo in the company of Queen Mary and her lady companion, in perfect medieval atmosphere...

to end the day, a quick visit to the glasgow means of transport museum...

really interesting because inside there was a reproduction on a human scale of a city street with the various means of transport.

A Very Special Day

O n Friday 30th November we had an exciting afternoon at the University of Glasgow, one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, since 1451(year of its foundation). Inside the building there's a History and Science Museum called the Hunterian Museum in which there were a lot of interesting objects and historical remains from different times in history such as old roman shoes and stuffed animals  including internal organs!! This place is worth the visit.
On 27th of November some students of my school and I left Rome to land to Glasgow in order to participate to a European project concerning the Europen citizenship and the English language. For the next three weeks we will attend an English language course in the city centre of Glasgow. This photo was taken at the very moment we arrived in Edinburgh. Look at the huge capital letters! We took a picture altogether after almost six hours of exhausting travelling.

Our trip to Scotland(1st day)

On the 27th November my English group and I left from Rome to Glasgow to participate to a European Project. Our trip lasted 6 hours - we had to take two flights - due to a stopover in Frankfurt where we stopped for 50 minutes. When we arrived in Glasgow it was colder than we expected, but luckily there was a bus waiting for us and we arrived to the hotel almost an hour later. A Foggy Day

When we got out of the hotel to go to school, this was the weather like that morning. I was really surprised also because temperature was -2 degrees! It was really cold during all the day and you can imagine our joy when we finally went back to the hotel after an entire day out.
On Sunday 1st  December my classmates and I visited one of the most fascinating attraction in Glasgow: The Science Museum. It wasn't the first time, I went there also last March, but I enjoyed the visit so much because I'm attending the last year of school in a Scientific Lyceum and I love everything related to science and subjects like that. After visiting the Museum, we assisted to a fantastic live show in the Glasgow Planetarium, a huge room in the museum dedicated to this kind of shows and in my opinion I can surely say that this was the most interesting part of our scientific journey in the museum because we experienced a fantastic half an hour in which we orbited around the space, passing from a planet to another one, listening to a detailed - and quite understandable - voice over commenting everything.
